Celebrate!!!

It's time for a celebration....We got our new trees in this weekend!!!!
We are so excited; they look great in the yard.
We decided on 2 Autumn Blaze Maple trees. We bought them from a family nursery from of Wichita that was going out of business. We are also going to start some smaller trees, but we are thankful we finally got something in!

TT4TT (Third Time for Tree Trouble)

Well, it looks like we have more tree trouble. On Monday and Tuesday, rur neighbor lady decided to have the trees lining her shed and shading our yard cut down, because they were rubbing against her shed roof. Unfortunately for us, we lose most of our shade on the south side. We were all quite disappointed and sad......But we will get all the wood from it, so that is a bonus!

Tree Trouble

Well, I guess we don't have much luck with trees around our place.....
Last week, we had a lot of wind and one of our neighbors boundary trees fell over to our side. Actually, it was suspended in the air, lodged between two branches.
One evening, we all went out to try and "remove it from the premises." LOL!

First, we tried to pull it down...

We couldn't pull-yank it down so, we got the chain-saw out.


The chain-saw chain had a recent encounter with a screw driver,
so Eric got his ax and hachet out.

Well, we finally had to get the Suburban out, tie some rope to the tree, attach the rope to the car, and Mom carefully backed out until we conquered the "Terrible Tree!"
I don't have a very good picture of the final battle, because it was getting dark, and you couldn't see well enough. So you'll have to use a little imagination!
We are hoping to go to a nursery (tree) and pick out something soon! Check back for an update in March, for the continuing saga of Tree Trouble at the Beckmans!

Family get-together

Last weekend, we had the opportunity
to spend some time with our out-of-state relatives.
It is the first time we have all been together in a long time!
We spent most of Sunday at the Stucky house.
Good Food and Fellowship!

On Monday we all went to Wichita....
our cousin is the head coach of Basketball at Dallas Baptist University.
The DBU Patriots were playing in Wichita on Monday night,
and we enjoyed attending the game!
They won against Newman University....It was a great time!

Tree Cutting

Well, on New Years Day we cut down our only tree in the backyard. It was kind of sad......It had some disease and was mostly dead, so we got the chainsaw, gloves, and work crew (aka the kids!) out! We are hoping to get another tree to replace ours.
Any suggestions?

Fun Times

Early December our good friend and her family got a horse,
and she invited us to come out and ride the horse.
It was a beautiful Kansas day and we took advantage of the sunshine!
