Unit Celebration | On the Prairie-The 1800's

This year in history, the family has been studying the 1800s.
Civil war, presidents, world events, prairie life, etc.

The unit celebration that we recently had was focused on life on the Prairie.
We went out to the Maxwell Game Preserve to see the real bison, and had a picturesque dinner with activities by the lake.

Here is some of the group looking for the bison.

Joshua-The Cowboy with Yellow boots

We had a lovely time listening to the birds sing, watching the water ripple, and smelling the smoke of the wood fire.....

Caroline and Olivia wrote a play depicting life on the prairie. It was fantastic!

We ended the evening with a harmonica solo by Luke.
It was perfect, so eerie and reminiscent of days gone by.
