Christmas Thoughts....

Poem
We are celebrating Christ's birth this day!
We remember those who can not be with us as we pray.
Thank you Lord for those we miss,
And for those we spend time with.
Merry, Merry Christmas!

~Somebody emailed this to us this week....Something to
Ponder
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were
not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone
during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.
It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning
plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each
element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality
which the children could remember.

-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.
-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John .
-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit- Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.
-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the
Apostles' Creed.

December

I can't believe that Christmas is only 3 days away!
December has FLOWN by!
We have been quite busy, so I am sorry I haven't posted in awhile.
I've been collecting pictures though!

Over the past couple of weeks we have had some snow,
as well as freezing temperatures!
With the wind chill it has been in the -15 degrees. Brrrrr!

Our first snow! A light dusting...

Then a few days later we got 4-5 inches!

Beautiful snow covered evergreens!

We have been working for about 6 weeks on a Christmas Program.
We went to Inman, KS last Monday (15th), where our great-grandpa lives,
to do the program for him and the rest of the nursing home.

On Thursday (18th) we did another program at a retirement home
in Hutchinson, KS. We got there, set everything up, then had a
nice dinner! Mom was just saying that day she hadn't gone out
for a good dinner in a long time!

This is the picture of our table setting!

I didn't get a picture of our dinner; ham, mashed potatoes,
corn, rolls, and cranberry salad before it got eaten.
Trust me, it was amazing! I did get a picture of our dessert though!

Here are some pictures of us performing
