Chick Update

We've made it through the first week of being chicken farmers....Yeah!
(I don't know if you would actually call us experienced chicken farmers
but it sounds good!)
They have grown really fast!!! And they are a so much fun to watch!
We got two replacements for the 2 that we lost, and so far, everyone else is eating, chirping, stretching, wing-flappin', and running around!
Here are so pictures I took this morning of them-One week old (Being at our place-the blacks are a week older than the rest, about 3 weeks by now-You can't tell, though, the yellows eat so much, they're almost as big!!!)

Chicks!!!

Last week we were talking with a friend, and got to the subject of chickens.
Now, you can legally have chickens in town if they are 200 ft. away from your neighbors.
We have been wanting to do this for a couple years.
Eric was especially excited about doing it.
So, yesterday we got 30 chickens! This is the first time we have done anything of this sort, so we were all interested.
Eric is even watching a movie about chickens right now!
Unfortunately, 2 of them have already died---We're not sure why.
But we will hopefully get them replaced.
I took some pictures of them, so here they are.
Come and see them-They are going to grow really fast!

Eric's contraption-Don't even ask what its called!!

Susanna

Today, I was curling Susanna's hair for fun.
It looked so cute I thought I would take a picture of it.
Then I remembered we had an antique looking dress....Hmmm, what do you think comes next? A photo shoot!
I also have a hat I use for room decor, but it looked perfect with the dress,
so I had to add it!
Here are a few that I got-I love editing with sepia and black and white, if you can't tell!

Zoo Field Trip

Today we met up with some friends-The Creer and Kroeker Families-and went to the Rolling Hills Zoo and Museum for a field trip. We met up about 9:30 a.m. and went to the museum first.
After a lunch break, we ventured to explore the zoo part.
The weather was perfect for a day at the zoo,
and we were blessed to have the opportunity to go and see all of God's amazing creations-all made in 6 days! Genesis 1:24 "And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Picture Shoot

I have recently been doing some photo pose practicing on Eric, Miles and Susanna.
I didn't get any shots of Caroline,
due to her being gone when we were practicing.....Hopefully I can get some.
Eric has been the hardest to convince (to take pictures of),
Miles is the most willing to give his ideas (of how he should pose!),
and Susanna can't sit still, but is cute anyhow.
Here are a couple of shots I got from around the house.
I also experimented with sepia and black-white coloring.
Please leave a comment on which one(s) you like best!

Eric started guitar lessons in September,
and I thought it would look cool if he could pose with it.....
How do YOU think they turned out?

Susanna-how adorable can she get?

Susanna was trying to kick me and she was laughing-I took advantage of her smile! LOL
